CRAFTING THE DETAIL
Craftsmanship is the quality that comes from creating with passion, care and attention for detail. It is a quality that is honed, refined and practiced over the course of a career. It is the quality that defines RUSKIN.
Each piece begins as a hand drawn concept on paper. Our concepts are then developed and crafted in small factories and workshops in Europe with an uncompromising attention to detail.
Herdwick are a rare, protected breed of sheep that have been farmed over centuries in the English Lake District.
Their wool is uniquely durable; robust in nature, yet soft to touch. Our custom manufactured, Herdwick tweed is produced in the traditional mills of the Yorkshire valleys and undergoes a number of complex processes before its completion as a tweed of the highest quality.
Upon completion, this custom fabric is then sent out to Italy to be handcrafted into RUSKIN bags with their own unique look and finish.
The leathers for our designs are carefully hand selected for their rich grain, texture and colour. Premium Italian calf and Nappa leathers are known for their incredible durability and excellent color consistency.
We choose our leathers for a natural appearance, with distinctive markings that impart unique character.
With their varying textures and shadowy furrows, the surfaces are unique to genuine leather and produce a product that is mindful of its provenance rather than one that is engineered.
RUSKIN typifies understated laid back luxury. Each carefully considered design reflects clean lines and simple form with practicality at its core. Subtle decorative qualities give our collection of products their unique style; a classic look with contemporary flair.
RUSKIN products are made in small numbers by true artisans. The material for each product is hand cut, trimmed and worked using traditional methods. Precise stitching and subtle detailing are combined to produce an exceptional level of refinement.
